Finding the right help for you or your loved one is a difficult process. We are here tohelp educate, refer, monitor, and support you throughout the entire process.

Assessment: This is the first step in finding help for your loved one. Treatment is not one size fits all. Things I think about are: does the person need drug or alcohol detox, have they been to rehab in the past or is this their first time, how long have they been using, drinking excessively, depressed, anxious, purging, restricting, acting out sexually, etecera? Are theymotivated to change? Do they have family support? Is someone enabling them to continue their behavior? How old are they? Do they need gender specific treatment? Do they have a history of trauma? Do they have a Dual Diagnosis? Do they have life skills? Financial considerations.

Referral Services: If you have searched the internet you know how many options there are to consider. I have intimate knowledge of a number of treatment facilities in Hawaii and on the Mainland. I know the questions to ask to find out the rehab facility that is the right one for you or your loved one. There are many things to consider when you are trying to find a rehab facility or therapist to fit the needs of the individual. This is not something you want to leave to chance.

Aftercare: This is a crucial part of the recovery process. Many families are under the impression that in 30, 60, or even 90 days of treatment is all the person needs. They have an expectation that the person will be cured. They are shocked when the loved one returns to using, purging, restricting, sexual acting out, drinking excessively, abusing prescription medications, and/or enabling behaviors. Having a comprehensive aftercare plan is crucial. Protect your investment of time and money spent on inpatient rehab.

BHH will work tirelessly to ensure that you or your loved one has a plan in place that will support their ongoing recovery.

Monitor Progress: We will work with the appropriate treatment facility to insure a smooth admission process. During residential treatment we will monitor your loved ones progress (provided they sign a document allowing the facility to divulge information) with post-treatment urine drug screening set-up, work with therapists, sober living, or extended care arrangements.
